After 30+ years with some of Canada’s Top 50 privately owned organizations spanning positions as file clerk, switchboard operator, Executive Assistant, Event Co-ordinator, Human Resources Manager/Consultant, Payroll/Benefits Administrator and Full Charge Bookkeeper, I struck out on my own in October 2007, opening my own bookkeeping practice.
From October 2007 to July 2015, I ran the Bookkeeping, Office Services and Personal Tax Division of a local accounting firm as well as running my own bookkeeping practice and raising four children. I completed the second year of Conestoga College's Professional Accounting Practices Program, which is the equivalent to a second year Certified General Accountancy, and I mentored with a CPA, CA for seven years. I'm a Sage Accountant's Network Premier Advisor. By 2015, the business had experienced enough consistently significant growth year-over-year to warrant incorporation and expansion to its current form.
The experiences and insights learned while going from employee to sole proprietor to incorporation have given me a full understanding of the evolution of small business and allows me to bring a wealth of valuable knowledge to the table for my clients to tap into.
